Ivana Dizdar’s research spans nineteenth-century visual and material culture, the history of science, the environmental humanities, and animal studies. She is currently writing her first book, a history of how the Arctic was represented across visual media in nineteenth-century Paris. Before coming to Yale, she held fellowships at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, Princeton University’s Department of Art and Archaeology, and, most recently, the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles. She holds a PhD in Art History from the University of Toronto.
