Placing Education at the Epicenter of Everyone's Lives

Diana E. E. Kleiner continues to place online education front and center at Yale and is one of four Yale women faculty who have collaborated with Yale’s Center for Teaching and Learning to share their knowledge with a global audience through MOOCs or massive open online courses.  The major vehicle has been her best-known lecture course, Roman Architecture, because she believes that every learner who takes that course leaves it with an appreciation of: 1) the Roman Empire’s magnificent and highly influential architecture and urban planning, and 2) an everyday awareness of their own and other built environments and the reliance of many of those, at least in part, on Rome’s.  She reflects further on her MOOC experience in the attached article:
