Chelsea Connelly presents at the Harvard-Yale-Brown Graduate Conference in Book History

Chelsea Connelly, a fifth year Ph.D. Candidate in the History of Art department, will deliver a paper at the 12th Annual Harvard-Yale-Brown Graduate Conference in Book History on, “Materiality and Book History (in the age of Zoom)”. Her paper is entitled “How to Judge a Book by Its Art: Analyzing Early Christian Visual Representations of Scrolls and Codices.” Based on data accumulated from her dissertation research, the presentation shows how the study of artistic representations of books can aid scholars in reconstructing the reception of their physical counterparts.
