Gabriel Haberberg

Gabriel Haberberg studies early modern northern European art and architecture. His research focuses on the development of the cityscape and the roles that architecture, painting and prints had in formulating depictions of place. He is also interested in studying how Netherlandish painters and architects working in Central Europe and the Dutch colonies in the Americas interacted with the landscape abroad.

Gabriel received his BA in art history from New York University and his MA from the Courtauld Institute of Art. At the Courtauld, he specialized in early modern Netherlandish art and wrote his thesis on Nicolaes Maes. After graduation, he worked as a curatorial intern at The Jewish Museum in New York.
