Harry Burke

Harry Burke studies modern and contemporary art, with an interdisciplinary research focus on global modernisms and global contemporary art. Their dissertation considers the relationship between art, animism and anticolonial worldmaking in archipelagic Southeast Asia.

 

Their criticism has recently appeared in Artforum, e-flux Criticism and Mousse, and in the exhibition catalogues Lorraine O’Grady: Both/And (Brooklyn Museum/Dancing Foxes Press, 2021) and The Art of Critique (Frans Hals Museum/Lenz Press, 2022). They were Assistant Curator at Artists Space, New York from 2015–18. 

 

They received a B.A. with First-Class Honours (2012) and M.A. with Distinction (2013) in History of Art from University College London.
