Gregor Quack

Gregor Quack studies modern and contemporary art. He holds a BA in art history from Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and two MAs, one from Columbia and one from Stanford University. Before grad school, Gregor was the art critic for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung and worked as a curator and arts educator. Most recently, he co-curated two exhibitions of global, mid-century abstraction at the Yale University Art Gallery. He’s currently completing a dissertation about the work of Franz Erhard Walther, provisionally entitled “The Social Fabric,” and has presented his research at institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the McNay Art Museum, Cantor Arts Center, Dia Art Foundation, and the Haus der Kunst in Munich. His writing has appeared in several museum catalogs and in periodicals including Artforum, Art Papers, and October.
