Her dissertation titled “Painting Sacrifice: French Art, Antiquarianism and Doctrine in the Grand Siècle” reframes French classical painting within the context of the period’s central religious debates, as well as the evolving concerns of the Académie royale de peinture et de sculpture. Her project examines the relationship between theology, and painterly practice in the work of François de Nomé, Sébastien Bourdon, Charles Le Brun, and Charles de la Fosse. She is currently reworking her manuscript for publication.
