In her research, Soffia focuses on how making and viewing art could prompt religious experiences and define conceptions of the gods. She is also interested in ancient healing and medicine; mining and manual labor; as well as historiography. Currently she is writing her dissertation on approaches to votive ceramic vessels from the archaic and classical periods. In the spring of 2022 she will be teaching an undergraduate seminar in the History of Art department titled “Myth, Magic, and Spectacle in Ancient Greek Sanctuaries.”
