Sequoia Miller is a doctoral candidate working on a dissertation exploring the connections between studio craft and conceptual art in the 1960s and 1970s. He recently curated the exhibition The Ceramic Presence in Modern Art at the Yale University Art Gallery and authored the accompanying catalogue. Sequoia has a Masters from the Bard Graduate Center in Decorative Arts, Design History and Material Culture. Prior to returning to graduate school, Sequoia was a full-time studio potter in the Pacific Northwest and exhibited, taught, and lectured widely.
