Daniel Spaulding is finishing his dissertation under the direction of Craig Buckley and David Joselit. His core project focuses on artistic responses to political, social, and economic transformation in the Federal Republic of Germany in the decade after 1968. His further research interests include art in post-1945 Europe, modernism, German intellectual history, and critical theory. Daniel’s writings have appeared in venues such as Art Journal and October. He is currently based in the Los Angeles area.
